Kronorite August 2020 Build
last updated 12.03.23

🤝 Made by 4 people in our spare time

I worked on Kronorite during my free time in High School with 3 other friends. It was nice because I had a lot of time and nothing to do with it, so I just experimented with lots of cool technologies and programs, and ended up with Kronorite.

I used everything I learned until then together and just grinded Unreal Engine & Blender every single day. It was more entertaining than playing a game, because how how rewarding and cool it was, so I was always motivated to work.

I worked on all parts of the game, including the dedicated servers, networking, UI & UX, skins, APIs, gameplay and most 3D models.

🧵 Available on Steam!

We launched Kronorite in September 2019 on Steam!

After lots of hard work, we launched it and it was pretty nice. As a multiplayer game, I insisted on implementing both dedicated servers, as well as a peer-to-peer alternative. Even though I still run the servers to this day, I wanted the game to be able to be played even if the servers are offline, for a complete user experience.

Unfortunately we didn't get to do lots of marketing because we were just finishing high school and most were moving abroad for their studies. This resulted in Kronorite not really having any solid playerbase.

We did some updates which included new game modes, maps and skins, but the game is pretty dead today. Everything is still running though!
